What is Hoist?
Hoist runs your whole workshop from one place: bookings, job cards, customers, vehicles, parts, invoicing and reminders, on any phone, tablet or computer. It’s built in New Zealand for New Zealand workshops.
Is Hoist built for New Zealand workshops?
Yes, that’s the whole point. Hoist is built in NZ, your data is stored in NZ, prices are in NZD, and rego lookups, WoF, CoF and GST are built in rather than bolted on.
How does the Xero integration work?
Both ways. Invoices you raise in Hoist show up in Xero on their own, payments and credit notes included, and anything that fails to sync is flagged for a retry rather than quietly lost. You don’t need Xero to use Hoist.
Is there a mobile app for mechanics?
Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon. For now, Hoist runs in any phone browser, so your team can update jobs, add parts and check the day's schedule right from the floor. No desktop needed.
How much does Hoist cost?
$80 a month + GST at early bird pricing, locked in for 6 months, then $140. Every plan includes 3 users, and extra users are $10 a month each. Start free with no card, and we’ll help you get set up before you pay a cent.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most workshops are writing job cards the same day. We’ll walk you through setup, bring your customers and vehicles across if you have them (free for a limited time), and make sure the team’s comfortable with it.
Can I switch from my current workshop software?
Definitely. Plenty of workshops come to Hoist from another system that just wasn't suiting them. Switching is three steps: send us your customer and vehicle list however you have it, we bring it across and set Hoist up for you (free for a limited time), and most workshops are writing job cards the same day. No starting from scratch, no re-typing everything.
Does Hoist handle WoF and service reminders?
Yes. Hoist watches the WoF and CoF date on every vehicle and sends the reminder itself by text or email, and service reminders go out on the date you set. Customers come back when they’re due without anyone having to remember.
Does Hoist work for mobile mechanics?
Yes. Because Hoist runs in any phone browser, mobile mechanics and tyre services use it from the van: look up the vehicle, update the job and invoice on the spot. Workshops that mix bay work with mobile callouts run both sides on the same system.
