What is Hoist?
Hoist runs your whole workshop from one place: work orders, customers, vehicles, parts, scheduling and invoicing, on any phone, tablet or computer. It's built in New Zealand, for Kiwi workshops. (Native iOS and Android apps are on the way.)
Is Hoist built for New Zealand workshops?
Yep, that's the whole point. Hoist is built in NZ, keeps your data here, prices in NZD, and handles the local stuff like rego lookups and GST out of the box. It works the way Kiwi workshops actually run.
How does the Xero integration work?
If you use Xero, Hoist talks to it both ways. Invoices you raise in Hoist show up in Xero automatically, and payments sync back across. No more typing the same thing into two systems at the end of the day.
Is there a mobile app for mechanics?
Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon. For now, Hoist runs in any phone browser, so your team can update jobs, add parts and check the day's schedule right from the floor. No desktop needed.

How long does it take to get set up?
Most workshops are up and running in a day. We'll walk you through setup, bring your existing customers and vehicles across, and make sure the team's comfortable with it. No drawn-out onboarding.
Can I switch from my current workshop software?
Definitely. Plenty of workshops come to Hoist from another system that just wasn't suiting them. Switching is three steps: send us your customer and vehicle list however you have it, we bring it across and set Hoist up for you (free for a limited time), and most workshops are writing job cards the same day. No starting from scratch, no re-typing everything.
Does Hoist handle WoF and service reminders?
Yes. Hoist tracks WoF, CoF and service dates against every vehicle and sends the reminders for you by SMS or email. Customers come back when they're due without anyone in the workshop having to remember.
Does Hoist work for mobile mechanics?
Yes. Because Hoist runs in any phone browser, mobile mechanics and tyre services use it from the van: look up the vehicle, update the job and invoice on the spot. Workshops that mix bay work with mobile callouts run both sides on the same system.
