If you're pricing up Auxo's workshop software - webSAM, Auxo Workshop, or desktop SAM - the numbers are spread across several pages and one of the three products has no public price at all. This page pulls together what Auxo publishes, with worked examples for a typical workshop, so you can compare properly.

Two things worth noting on that table. First, Auxo's webSAM page doesn't state whether its $99 figure includes GST, while the Auxo Workshop page prices exclude it - so ask, rather than assume the two are like-for-like. Second, the tier you need depends on which features sit where - Essentials is the entry point, and Auxo Workshop offers a free trial, so you can check before committing.
One more line item that matters for workshops: SMS. On webSAM, text message packages start at $12/month for 45 messages, excluding GST - about 27c per text. (For comparison, Hoist charges a flat 12c per message with no bundles.) If reminders are part of your plan, price the texts, not just the seats.
What that means for a real workshop
Per-user pricing looks small on the brochure and grows every time your team does. Here's the arithmetic for a workshop with three people using the system - say an owner, a front-desk person, and a lead technician:
- webSAM: $99 + (2 × $19) = $137/month - roughly $1,644/year (GST treatment unstated on Auxo's page).
- Auxo Workshop Essentials: $99 + $19 for the third user = $118 + GST/month - roughly $1,416 + GST/year.
- Desktop SAM: you'll need a quote.
Add a fourth seat and each cloud option climbs another $19/month. That's the structural thing to understand about per-user pricing: the headline number is the floor, not the bill.
Which Auxo product would you actually be on?
Auxo's line-up is a family, not one product. Desktop SAM is the long-standing installed software; webSAM is a browser-based version of it; Auxo Workshop is the newer cloud platform, which Auxo's CEO has said existing SAM customers can begin migrating to. Auxo hasn't announced an end-of-life date for desktop SAM - but if you're a SAM workshop comparing prices today, it's worth asking Auxo which of the two cloud products they'd move you to, and what that migration involves, because that's the price that matters for your next few years.
How Hoist compares
Hoist takes the opposite approach to per-user pricing: one flat plan with every feature included and 3 users in the base price, then $10/month per additional user. As at mid-2026 the early adopter rate is $80 + GST/month (regular price $140 + GST) - current numbers are always on the pricing page.
For the same three-person workshop above, that's $80 + GST/month on the early adopter rate with no per-seat charges until your fourth user - and the per-seat charge that does exist is about half Auxo's. Whether that beats an Auxo quote for your workshop depends on your team size and which tier you'd need, which is exactly why we've published the numbers side by side rather than a slogan.

Questions worth asking any vendor before you sign
- Is the quoted price GST-inclusive or exclusive?
- How many users are included, and what does each extra seat cost?
- Which features sit in higher tiers than the one you've been quoted?
- Is there a contract term or notice period?
- What does data migration cost, and who does the work?
Ten minutes with those five questions turns two incomparable quotes into a real decision.
